Lottery Testing Excellence Continues in Sault Ste. Marie with CA$2.6M Support

Lottery corporations are on a constant pursuit of offering the most advanced lottery offerings to their customers across the provinces. This could happen with continuous testing and improving them in special conditions, such as the testing lab in Sault Ste. Marie powered by Professional Quality Assurance Ltd. and PLATO Testing. The related companies with decades of experience received CA$2.6 million from FedNor that would guarantee ongoing operation in the lab.

Testing lottery and gaming offerings is a mandatory step for every lottery corporation willing to step up its game and bring the best to its customers. Gaming is also subjected to regular checkups that strive to elevate the player experience and make it a lasting one. Sault Ste. Marie is home of the gaming lab that offers conditions for testing various gaming offerings in the right conditions. Additional support was needed for its ongoing operation.

PLATO Testing Continues Work

Here is where FedNor entered the stage with its financial support of the project that would guarantee its operation in the upcoming years. The platforms powering various lottery games based on software would be put to the test and improved by it. It also offers a new level of integration of First Nations and their potential in the context of the gaming industry.

Anishinaabeg people receive the chance to be employed and have a guaranteed income thanks to the testing lab project. Over the past year, the project has been in full swing in Sault Ste. Marie. The region itself is a crucial one for Canada’s gaming industry and Ontario’s local field with its unique environment and climate. Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has its headquarters in the region, among other leading companies.

Excellent preparation and training are crucial for the continuous good performance down the road and this is something Professional Quality Assurance Ltd. has been relying on over the past year. Every training cycle lasts for 15 weeks and 8 out of 10 people participating in it manage to complete it successfully.

Lab Operation Boosted by FedNor

The individuals that have received extensive training are well-prepared for the industry and future operation of the testing lab. The collaboration between the sister companies would aim to introduce even better conditions to the industry. Terry Sheehan, Member of Parliament for Sault Ste. Marie stated that the future seems bright with this recent investment that would boost the lab’s operation.

This is especially important for the Indigenous Peoples of Northern Ontario. Across Canada, the topic of First Nations and their integration in the gaming field has been an important one with a visible impact. However, there are still situations in which the tribes share they feel like a marginal community that is deprived of their rights of equal development. One of the most prominent examples in Ontario is the conflict of Wauzhushk Onigum Nation and the province over casino permit.

Mid-June the Divisional Court ruled against the First Nations attempts to claim licensing for casino operation in the Kenora area, after it was deprived of it in 2004. Now Gateway Casinos & Entertainment is working on its own Kenora casino that would launch operation in 2020. The tribe sought commercial license revoking and the opportunity to manage its own casino once again.
