Loto-Québec Invites Residents to Multiple Winter Events

Loto-Québec is once more sponsoring community winter events in Montréal and Quebec City, including Igloofest and the Quebec Winter Carnival. Supporting these celebrations reflects the Crown corporation’s commitment to community engagement and responsibility. These events offer unique experiences, as they combine entertainment with a focus on environmental sustainability.

As the sole regulated provider of gambling and lottery entertainment in Quebec, the Crown agency oversees various activities. These include lottery games like draw games and scratch cards, as well as the operation of casinos, gaming halls, bingo parlours, video lottery terminals, and online gambling through its Espacejeux service. Proceeds from operations are then reinvested back into the province.

Giving Back to the Province

During the winter season, the Crown corporation will be supporting and sponsoring four important events. Igloofest will be held in Montréal from January 18 to February 10, 2024, as well as in Quebec City from March 7 through March 9, 2024. The event brings together people in a warm and festive atmosphere while playing the best local and international electronic music.

Then there is also the Quebec Winter Carnival taking place from January 25 to February 11, 2024. This one is a genuine event pioneer, as the carnival will be celebrating its 70th anniversary this calendar year. The Crown corporation is inviting the Quebec City public to join it for the occasion and visit Bonhomme’s grand ice palace and enjoy five thrilling musical evenings.

Last but not least is the Montréal en Lumière, scheduled from February 29 until March 10, 2024. For the event, Esplanade Tranquille will transform into Place Loto-Québec, becoming a must-see gathering place. In addition to that, the Loto-Québec Ferris Wheel also provides residents with some breathtaking views of the city.

The Crown corporation’s Corporate Vice-President of Responsible Gambling, Communications and Social Responsibility, Benoit Lefrançois, said giving back to the communities is part of the agency’s DNA. He added that the agency is honoured to be one of the main partners of events throughout the year, that bring people together and benefit the entire community.

Enhancing Gambling Offerings

On top of providing some exceptional live entertainment throughout the province, Loto-Québec is also always looking to improve its retail and online offerings. For instance, in December 2023, the Crown awarded the final jurisdictional certification for Tangiamo Touch Technology AB. Hence, allowing it to install its MultiPLAY Roulette gaming tables at Montreal Casino.

But that is not all, as in October 2023, the gambling regulator also reported that it has struck an agreement with ODDSworks. This is a North American brand focusing on remote gaming server technology and digital games. Via the contract, the provider delivered its BETguard™ and RGS platform and its exclusive and third-party games to the Crown agency.
