Casino Complexes Could Soon Welcome Employees
Unifor Local 1090 reported that about 4,500 individuals associated with the labor union have been temporarily laid off as a result of the ongoing strike. This means that some 2,500 individuals working at the assembly plant in Oshawa were told to go home since mid-September. An additional 2,000 people working directly with General Motors’ suppliers were also temporarily laid off.
The labor union has been seeking ways in which it could offer its members a steady income and no financial harm as a result of the turmoil.
