Woodbine Mohawk Park Reveals Holiday Calendar

Last week, Woodbine Entertainment provided its holiday schedule for Woodbine Mohawk Park in Campbellville, Ontario. The operator explained live harness racing will continue as scheduled until December 23, 2023, and will resume with its traditional matinee card on Boxing Day. As usual, there will be no racing on Christmas or Christmas Eve.

Woodbine Mohawk Park is owned and operated by Woodbine Entertainment and it hosts world-class Standardbred horse racing. On top of harness racing, it also boasts a large slot machine parlour with over 1,000 slot machines, which Great Canadian Entertainment operates. A portion of the revenue is used on horse racing purses and supports the industry.

More Details on the Holiday Racing

In its press, the horse racing operator revealed that qualifiers will be held on Friday, December 22, and Friday, December 29 at 9:30 a.m. Meanwhile, live racing continues on December 26, 2023, with post time 1 p.m. The draw date is set for December 20, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. and the date for the scratch time is set for Thursday, December 21, at 9 a.m.

Then live racing will return on Thursday, December 28, 2023, with a post time of 7:10 p.m. with a draw date scheduled for Friday, December 22, at 10:30 a.m. Scratch time is on Friday, December 22, at 6 p.m. There will be more live racing on December 29, with a post time of 7:10 p.m. The Draw date is a few days prior on December 26 and scratch time is on December 27 at 9 a.m.

Horse racing fans in Ontario will have more live racing to look forward to as races continue at the track on Friday, December 29, 2023. Post time for the day is the usual 7:10 p.m. Draw for the event will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., while scratch time is on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at exactly 9 a.m.

The last live racing date for the calendar 2023 will be on December 30, 2023, with a starting time of 7:10 p.m. Draw date for the day will be held on December 26 at 10:30 a.m. while scratch time is on the next day at 10:30 a.m. On the first day of the new year, the track will host another set of live races with a post time of 7:10 p.m. The draw date is on December 27, 2023, and the scratch time is a day later.

Recapping 2022-23

As the end of 2023 draws near, Woodbine Entertainment is leaving behind another successful year. A while ago, the organization issued its 2022-2023 Corporate Responsibility Report which recapped some of its highlights, such as exceeding CA$1 billion in all-sources betting handle at its Woodbine Racetrack and Woodbine Mohawk Park for the first time.

At that time, the group also implemented the popular Swinger, also known as Omni Wager, to its Woodbine Racetrack and Woodbine Mohawk Park. It’s a leading global wager which allows horseplayers to select two of the top three finishers in a race. Then, one of the participants can win with their preferred choice of horses finishing a race first and second, first and third, or second and third.
