Seneca Nation of Indians Give Buffalo a Taste of Tribal Sports Wagering

New York sports betting is a gaming offering that has gained quite the traction over the past few weeks, especially since the beginning of the 2019 NHL Season. Seneca Nation of Indians also wanted a piece of the pie, which led to the eventual unveiling of its brand new Seneca Sports Lounge at KeyBank Center in Buffalo. It comes in collaboration with the Buffalo Sabres for a new season filled with success and mutual benefit.

Wagering on live sports events has been a dream for many New Yorkers, as, for many years, this gaming offering was considered illegal on a state level. Now that the appropriate regulation has been introduced and individuals can safely bet on the wide range of sports events, all casino operators in the region want to reserve the best position within the local field. Tribal management is no exception.

Seneca Sports Lounge Welcomed First Patrons

Seneca Nation of Indians has teamed up with Pegula Sports and Entertainment for the premium offering. Seneca Sports Lounge greenlighted operation on the 200 Club Level with a lavish ceremony featuring representatives of all parties involved. Kim Pegula, President and CEO of Pegula Sports and Entertainment, and President of the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bills and AHL’s Rochester Americans, was present.

Together with Ricky Armstrong, Seneca Nation President, they cut the ribbon of this milestone project and made it clear that Native American tribes support sports. Just in time for the Golden Season that would mark half a century of excellence, the new sports lounge commenced operation. Individuals that have a suite level ticket or a 200-level one are welcome to make their way there and enjoy the wide array of sports experience and gaming opportunities.

Seneca Sports Lounge is equipped with as many as 15 flat-screen TVs that showcase a palette of sports events available. The area also boasts a bar, making the entire experience even more pleasant. For the time being, in-person sports wagering is legal at brick-and-mortar casino locations in New York State. Four commercial and eleven tribal venues would offer it very soon.

Sports Wagering Could Come Soon

The premium sports ticker would offer live scores, promotional messages, as well as news from all over the world. People would have the chance to learn everything they need to in a matter of seconds. Seneca Casino & Resort has also guaranteed the fun would never end, with the help of its interactive games installed at the sports lounge floor.

For a well-rounded experience, the sports bar comes with North American breweries, Buffalocal products, as well as premium grab-and-go offerings. Down the road, the collaboration is projected to see expanded sports wagering opportunities at the Seneca Sports Lounge. Holly Gagnon, President and CEO of Seneca Gaming Corporation, made it clear that sports enthusiasts are now able to get a sneak peek into what tribal sports wagering would look like.

Seneca Gaming Corporation has quietly posted a job offer seeking an individual with executive-level experience to propel sports betting operation. The corporation oversees three casino locations in Western New York. Those are Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca, and Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in Buffalo, New York.
