Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Hosts a Job Fair

Most recently Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady announced to the public that the gaming property is looking into making some new additions to its team. The NY-based gaming hotspot will be hosting a job fair on August 5 at its Event Center to recruit some new blood to its food & beverage department.

The casino’s Human Resources department will interview candidates on-site for a wide range of positions. The available positions start from cooks, chefs, bartenders, cocktail servers, shift managers, and many more. The property is hoping to recruit 50 individuals, and the positions are available in both full-time and part-time opportunities.

Applicants are Welcome

The job fair will be at the property’s Event Center and it will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021. The event will start at 10 a.m. and it will continue to around 2 p.m. The casino reminds that all candidates must be of the legal age of 18 years old and bring their resumes. Candidates on site will be able to apply for the 50 vacant positions.

Director of Human Resources at the casino, Linda Waters, claimed that to work for the casino is much more than just a job and that it is quite fun and rewarding. Ms. Waters continued by saying that the working environment is great and that the casino prides itself on its diversity. According to her, it also encourages personal and professional growth.

Full-time positions at the casino provide workers with paid time off, as well as medical, dental, and vision plans. Additionally, the staff is rewarded with a 401k plan with a company match and many more benefits. All positions will also be offered a shuttle bus from the local CDTA blue line stop. Full information about the positions can be found on the casino’s official website.

Lift of Restrictions

After the previous laxation of restrictions, Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady is now closer to normal operation. Back in June, the casino was able to return to its full volume of allowed guests for the first time since the beginning of the unprecedented situation. Plexiglas barriers at the property were uninstalled and wearing a mask became optional for the vaccinated individuals.

On June 18 the casino managed to reopen its Van Slyck’s bar, and the venue operated only on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. The casino property will be operational every day from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Additionally, the sports betting kiosks also resumed work as they are available during the casino’s regular business hours.

Saying Goodbye

Further back in April, the Schenectady gaming property parted ways with its long-time serving General Manager Justin Moore. He was transferred to another property owned by Rush Street Gaming but in Rivers Casino Philadelphia. Mr. Moore has been a pivotal figure in the property’s existence as he has been a part of the team since the official reopening of the venue in 2017.
