Half a Lotto 6/49 Jackpot Snatched in Quebec

Lotto 6/49 continues being one of the most popular draw-based gaming offerings in Canada due to its substantial Main prizes and the additional prizes coming with every draw. A lottery fan from Montreal is the latest lotto millionaire who bagged half of the Main prize amounting to CA$8,539,083 recently. Fernando de Oliveira is the lucky individual who won the big money coming with the July 22 draw.

In a recent statement, Loto-Québec confirmed that one of the winning tickets eligible for the cash payout coming with the July 22 Lotto 6/49 draw had been sold in Montreal ahead of the particular draw. This gave the winner a total of 52 weeks to contact the Crown corporation in a timely manner and ultimately claim their prize.

Montreal Winner

Mr. de Oliveira was the individual in possession of the winning piece of paper that had the potential to make him much richer than before the deadline comes. He has been purchasing Lotto 6/49 tickets for years and his dedication has finally paid off. The numbers part of the July 22 draw might have had a special significance to some players, but they ended up making the Montreal resident a millionaire.

Those were 05, 14, 19, 42, 46, 47, as well as the bonus number 08. The Main prize coming with this draw had to be split between two tickets, each of them becoming eligible for half of the prize. Soon after the draw, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation confirmed that the other ticket was sold in the Ottawa region. For the time being, there is no information about the second winner.

They also have a total of 12 months to make the move and contact their respective Crown corporation in order to bag their half of the jackpot. Players that have purchased a ticket ahead of the July 22 draw are advised to check their pockets, bags, and drawers for any misplaced Lotto 6/49 tickets.

Other Winner Still Expected

In the meantime, the Montreal lotto fan revealed more about the lucky lottery ticket purchase he made towards the end of July. Mr. de Oliveira made his way to Canadian Tire Essence Plus in Kirkland in order to buy a ticket without known that this is the purchase that will change the very direction of his life. The point of sale is located on the West Island of Montreal.

The regular Lotto 6/49 draw came and went but the winner found out about the good news on the following day. This is when he checked the numbers and saw that they match the ones printed on his ticket. Mr. de Oliveira quickly made his way to the retailer where he had made the purchase, in order to confirm that his eyes are not deceiving him.

He even used the Loto-Québec mobile app on his daughter-in-law’s phone, scanning the ticket once again, and seeing the same text confirming the ticket is a winning one. The Lotto 6/49 millionaire plans to travel the world once this is possible and spoil his family with the CA$8.5 million.
