This Wednesday is going to be a special day for Elora, as Grand River Raceway will see the official start of its new live season for the 16th consecutive time. Horse people and enthusiasts will have the chance to enjoy live racing on site of the racecourse over the upcoming weeks, in addition to major changes and renovation of Elements Casino adjacent to the racetrack. October will also see renovation work on site of the racecourse.
Every summer is a heated one on site of the racetrack that aims to elevate the horse people’s experience. This happens with live racing events that attract a large crowd of people fond of the activity. What makes it especially attractive to many of them are the childhood memories associated with visiting the racetrack and watching horse races live on site. The official launch of this season will be the 16th one in a row for Grand River Raceway and celebrations are projected to be lavish.
Wednesday Brings First Events
Wednesday is going to bring the Local Biz Night congregation that will provide a networking opportunity for more than 20 local businesses. Some 120 guests are expected to make their way to the special event and spend then opening night in good company and experiencing fine cuisine.
Furthermore, each of the guests attending the congregation will have the chance to spend some time with the horse they are linked to. Said horses will race in the seventh live race taking place on site, but before that the individuals they are paired with will have the opportunity to meet them and support them before the big race.
This live season is expected to bring bag major events to the likes of Fun & Frivolity Friday Race Night. This congregation has always been a favorite for people attending Grand River Raceway especially because of the Drive a Racehorse. Everyone interested has the opportunity to drive one of the racehorses that have participated in many live events.
October Will See Raceway Renovation Work
The Drive a Racehorse event is possible only with the professional advice and collaboration with a professional driver. For those special Friday events, the racetrack has taken care of parents with young children. They could enjoy The NEIGHbourhood kids’ special area that will offer them entertainment for hours and the constant supervision of reliable staff. In the meantime, Elements Casino has already introduced some new features to its area.
One of the most recognizable ones is the temporary relocation of some of its features. The new 3,200-square-foot First Turn Tent is going to become the temporary home of some of its signature gaming offerings. The special Guest Care Counter that will elevate the pleasant experience on site is among them. In addition to that, the gaming area now features special betting windows, bringing the thrill of wagering even closer to players.
They also have the opportunity to watch the live horse races with the help of the big TV screens installed there. This temporary area is located in the vicinity of the Lighthouse Restaurant, renowned for its diverse dining offerings. Great Canadian Gaming is the casino operator overseeing the casino venue. October is also going to bring renovation work once the season ends on September 27. Projections are that June 2020 could see the completion of this renovation phase.
