ALC Appoints Next President & CEO

On October 1, 2021, Atlantic Lottery Corporation’s Board of Directors has announced its decision to appoint Patrick Daigle as President & Chief Executive Officer of the agency. Mr. Daigle who until now served as Interim President & CEO will be now assuming the position permanently, thus continuing his successful tenure at the corporation.

Mr. Daigle has been part of the agency’s family ever since 1997 and he had enough experience to take on the task and responsibility of his role. He has also served as Chief Financial Officer, before being appointed as Interim President and CEO back in February 2021. And now he will be tasked with guiding the agency forwards in its next development plan.

Permanent Appointment

Sean O’Connor, Chair of the Crown corporation’s Board of Directors believes that Mr. Daigle’s almost 25 years of leadership experience will prove as a crucial asset to the company in its ongoing expansion. O’Connor explained that the Board conducted a rigorous hiring process to ensure that they find the most suitable candidate for the role.

In addition to that, Mr. O’Connor said that the Board is pleased to have Mr. Daigle as President and CEO, as he brings proven experience and expertise to the Crown entity. Previously, the CEO had experience in finance, supply-chain management, human resources, risk management, Board governance, and information security. His qualities will prove vital in his new role.

Mr. Daigle has also shared a few thoughts and words on his latest appointment. He said that he is honored to continue as the President and CEO and to continue to lead the charge forward for the Crown corporation. He noted that the team will continue to put the local population first, by balancing social responsibility with sustainable income in order to support the economy.

IGT Renewal

Previously, the Atlantic Lottery Corporation extended its contract agreement with International Game Technology’s subsidiary IGT Canada Solutions ULC. Now the two sides will continue their fruitful collaboration for one more year, and the provider will continue its supply of video lottery central system INTELLIGEN to the Crown agency. The Crown’s VLTs will continue to be connected by the provider’s framework.

The partnership between the corporation and the gaming supplier has started back in 1982, and over the years they have enjoyed the collaboration. In 2012, the two companies signed a deal for the supply of 1,612 VLTs to the Atlantic region, which is overseen by the ALC. With the extension, fans of the products will be able to enjoy them for another year.

New Type of Kiosks

Additionally, in August, the ALC announced the introduction of full-service player self-service lottery kiosks for the first time in the country. The new product offers lottery draws and instant games in a spectacular fashion. Also, the product was launched with help from Scientific Games, which is a leading provider of instant games to the industry.
