Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York has been picked as the Best Overall Gaming Resort in this year’s Casino Player magazine’s Best of Gaming Awards. But that is not all, as the property has also claimed a record-setting amount of 31 awards in the 2023 edition of the annual awards. This amount was the largest for any casino in the Empire State.
Casino Player Magazine’s annual Best of Gaming awards are voted by guests and they recognize premium guest service, exceptional accommodations, unique experiences, and remarkable amenities. This year marks the eighth consecutive one in which the Verona gaming resort has been acknowledged with Best Overall Gaming Resort by patrons.
Obtaining Numerous First-Place Awards
In this year’s edition of the prestigious awards, Turning Stone Resort Casino was recognized with first-place honours in numerous categories. These include Best Overall Gaming Resort, Best Hotel, Best Pool, Best Spa, Best Golf Course, Best Casino Resort to Vacation At, Best VIP Lounge/Area, Best Table Games, Best Overall Sportsbook, Best Poker Room and several others.
Ray Halbritter, Oneida Indian Nation representative and Oneida Nation Enterprises CEO said the tribe takes great pride in such honours. He noted that the contributions of all team members from all departments have enabled the property to establish exceptional standards for guest service and experience, and the idea is to elevate these values even further in the next years.
The casino also reported that it will be hosting a Turning Stone Hiring Expo on August 22, 2023. Candidates will be able to look for new work in several positions. These include desk clerks, cooks, servers, dealers, massage therapists, sports book writers, and more. The news of being recognized at the Best of Gaming Awards and hiring more staff members come on the back of the announcement of a US$370-million renovation plan. This will be the largest overhaul of the casino and it will include a new 77,000-square-foot conference center, a 258-room hotel title The Crescent, a new seafood restaurant, and NY Rec & Social Club.
There will be also two new ballrooms, a 30,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom with a terrace with a view of the Shenandoah Golf Course and The Lodge’s Great Lawn, as well as an outdoor courtyard with event spaces. Also, the new indoor parking space will include 2,000 parking spots and quick access to the conference centre.
Hosting World Series of Poker
In addition to its expansion, the casino recently informed that it will be once again a host to the World Series of Poker in New York in the 2023-24 season. The Oneida casino will welcome the tournament on March 14, 2024, and it is set to attract plenty of attention from poker fans from all over the state and the country.
