Everything Gateway Casinos Has in Store for 2020 Expansion

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment has great plans when it comes to casino expansion and bringing players closer to the premium opportunities it has up for grabs. North Bay is among the locations that would see a brand new casino location in 2020, a project coming to life amid a turmoil of opinions and initiatives. Projections are that Cascades Casino North Bay is about to welcome its first casino patrons in May 2020.

The CA$31-million casino complex saw its groundbreaking ceremony in May this year and the initial projections were that the casino complex would be ready by July 2020. However, the pace of work has been excellent so far and May 2020 is expected to see a soft opening for the residents of North Bay and the region.

Expansion Coming Soon

Following seven years of work on a potential casino venue in the area, Cascades Casino North Bay would see the light of day. This casino location is about to rise on Pinewood Park Drive, in the vicinity of Lakeshore drive off Highway 11. In order to facilitate traffic, road optimization was proposed earlier this year. Initial estimations are that it would cost more than CA$3 million shared between the City coffers and casino operator.

It would result in the introduction of a roundabout at the intersection of Lakeshore and Pinewood Park drives. Cascades Casino North Bay will bring steady employment to as many as 300 locals through extensive training, as they will have to oversee 300 slot devices and eight live table games. Expectations are that casino venue operation would result in regular allocations to the city coffers reaching up to CA$2 million annually.

In addition to the gaming offerings, the project is also about to bring MATCH Eatery Public House and The Buffet as a rich food experience. Another casino that strives to launch operation within 2020 is Cascades Casino Delta. The Langley City location would cost some CA$70 million currently built at the former Delta Town & Country Inn property.

New Casino Launching Next Year

Groundbreaking on the construction site took place in May following the razing of the half-century hotel at the junction of highways 17A and 99. The new casino complex would come with a five-story hotel tower featuring 116 rooms available for booking. As for the casino offerings up for grabs, there will be 500 slot machines in addition to 24 table games. Striving to bring patrons a well-balanced experience, the complex would also feature the signature MATCH Eatery and Public House, Atlas Steak + Fish, and The buffet.

Expectations are that this venue is about to bring annual revenue reaching CA$3 million. Gateway Casinos currently oversees operation of Gateway Casinos Sudbury at Sudbury Downs. The license for operation of this slots location is bound to expire in April 2020, meaning that the casino operator would be seeking a temporary casino venue. Kingsway Entertainment District was supposed to house the new permanent casino complex, but that project was delayed.

Dario Zulich, Sudbury developer wanted to aid Gateway Casinos operation by purchasing Chateau Guay Motel and transforming it into a temporary gambling facility. For the time being, the casino operator has not confirmed it is willing to operate there. However, it is certain that Gateway Casinos wants to continue its operation within Greater Sudbury.
