More Players Are Welcome at Akwesasne Mohawk Casino

Akwesasne Mohawk Casino is preparing for more changes in the upcoming weeks, as it amped up its capacity. This week saw the announcement that the tribal casino resort is ready to welcome up to 1,200 casino patrons at the gambling hotspot. Such an increase is expected to support the gaming revenue of the tribal resort.

Native American tribes have been among the big players overseeing casino resorts and gaming venues for years now and their relationship with New York State is a special one. Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe of Akwesasne, New York is the tribe which oversees both gaming operation and hospitality on the premises of the premium casino resort. It aims to bring a diverse palette of gaming offerings to the table.

Tribal Casino

Individuals in the region are in for a treat when it comes to the gaming operation on the premises of the casino resort, as it always aims to meet their expectations and offer more. There are some 130,000 square feet of the casino floor and it has been recently confirmed that the casino will be allowed to welcome up to 1,200 casino patrons at all times.

This occupancy limit increase is expected to have a positive impact on the gaming session, as it will amount to one-third of the overall capacity of the gaming venue. In addition to this increase, Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe also made it clear that the adjacent hotel tower is also going to be affected by some changes. Individuals hailing from the 300 miles radius surrounding the tribe’s reservation will be welcomed.

The approval has been given and they will have the chance to make reservations whenever they need to. Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort General Manager Emily Lauzon stated that at the moment, casino patrons and hotel guests should be protected at all times, and various safety and health protocols have been implemented across the casino resort.

1,200 Patrons

However, the gaming hotspot is now ready to see more people make their way in a safe manner and explore everything in store. Ms. Lauzon pointed out that it is a good time for the tribal casino resort to welcome back more of its loyal patrons and guests and treat them to a well-deserved stay.

The individuals making their way at the casino venue or the hotel will have to bring a state-issued identification making it known that they have a residency within the 300-mile radius in question. As a result of the expansion of the number of patrons allowed, gaming revenue is expected to increase. There are upwards of 1,500 slot titles and video poker offerings available on the premises of the tribal casino.

Many of the slot machines on its premises have been switched off in order to create more physical space between the players and protect them while gaming. It could be recalled that August 31 saw the official reopening of the casino location. The original plan for action was to witness the reopening of Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort back in July, but the unprecedented situation was dynamically changing and this prevented the reopening from happening then.
