FanDuel Invests Big in Responsible Gambling Program

The month of September is devoted to Responsible Gaming Education Month, and one of the industry’s leading betting operators, FanDuel, is investing big in responsible play advocacy. The New York-based company has recently announced soccer star Carli Lloyd and PGA TOUR star Tom Kim have joined Craig Carton in the operator’s Responsible Gaming Ambassador team.

As ambassadors, the two will raise awareness of the importance of responsible gambling and the tools the company provides for users to manage play. This includes limits on deposits, time, wagers and more. They will participate in new initiatives to leverage a unique combination of talent, content, and more to educate the company’s player base on responsible play.

Upping its Responsible Gambling Efforts This Month

The addition of new responsible gambling ambassadors is not all from FanDuel in September, as this month, the company will launch its new RG advertising campaign. Branded “The System” will come with a new iteration which is backed by massive media investment and will air throughout the football season. The operator’s Play Well tools offer responsible gaming play.

Furthermore, the gambling brand announced that it has teamed up with Front Office Sports to present an innovative and free gaming educational course house within Front Office Sports’ Learning platform, coming early next year. It will feature fundamentals of responsible play and the expanding sports betting sector. Once completed, participants will receive a badge for LinkedIn profiles.

But that is not all, as on September 26, 2023, the company will hold its second annual Play Well Day in New York City and it will be broadcast to employees around the world. It is an employee-only event and will focus on the operator’s devotion to creating a culture concentrated on customer protection. The event will contain all-day seminars with executives and RG Ambassadors.

All of these efforts will have a crucial impact on the company’s and Flutter Entertainment’s global sustainability strategy, titled Positive Impact Plan. This initiative is concentrated on utilizing universal principles to promote responsible gambling across regulated markets where Flutter operates. It has set a goal of 50% of iGaming users to be using RG tools by the end of 2026.

Recent Highlights by the Operator

In August, the iGaming leader announced that it has collaborated with IMG ARENA’s Golf Event Centre, which is an innovative purpose-built sports betting solution. From August 10, 2023, the sports tech was integrated into the operator’s sportsbook with the FedEx St. Jude Championship, bolstering the sports betting platform’s golf wagering options.

In addition to that, the company also appointed a new Vice President, Sustainability & Responsible Gaming in the face of Alison Kutler. In her new position, she will make sure that the company’s responsible play and sustainability strategies correspond to its industry-leading customer protection model. She will also lead its RG training and product development, RG operations and advocacy teams.
