Casino Montréal Terminates Restaurant Contract

Latest set of news coming from the Quebec gaming industry is that Casino Montréal will be shutting down one of its restaurants for good. The casino hotspot has informed that starting this April, it will be terminating its contract with the L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon restaurant. The entire property has been closed down with the beginning of the unprecedented situation.

It has been a tough year, to say the least for the Quebec gaming industry as casinos have been closed down after the occurrence of the first lockdown back in March 2020. The casino along with all of its properties including the restaurant has been closed down for a year now. As of right now, it is still unclear whether the gambling facility will be able to reopen any time soon.

Permanent Closing

The news about the permanent closing of the dining property was broken by Casino Montréal yesterday on April 27, 2021. And by the end of this month, the casino and the restaurant will be splitting ways as the contract with Groupe Robuchon will be officially terminated. This comes as a result of the non-operation status of the casinos and the uncertainty of when they will reopen in the province.

A review has been conducted in order to assess the future of indoor dining at both the property and the Casino du Lac-Leamy. Once, Casino de Montréal is allowed to relaunch its dining facilities in the future, the space from the restaurants will be occupied by the Asian dining venue of Ajia. The latter will use this opportunity to further expand on the property’s premises.

The Société des casinos du Québec has said a few words on L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon’s imminent departure from the casino property. The Crown corporation stated that it was more than pleased with the restaurant’s excellent contribution over the years. As it offered an unforgettable experience to its many guests, the property’s staff members deserve huge credit for it.

Joel Robuchon International has also addressed the current contract termination of the contract with the gambling entity. The company has thanked the casino for the great collaboration and amazing support over the course of their partnership and it is hopeful to work again with the casino once again in the future.

Special Events

During the years and regular working conditions, Casino Montréal has brought lots of entertaining and reward events to its player base. For its 25th anniversary, the gambling property has run a special event with a CA$250,000 prize pool. The event was called Special 25th Anniversary Slot Machine Tournament and it was held from October through November 2019.

Then after the anniversary slot event in November 2019, the gambling entity has presented the OK POKER Classic One tournament. The event was officially launched on November 18, and it had a guaranteed prize pool of the impressive CA$325,000. The tournament consisted of several smaller events with different buy-in and rewards ensuring that everyone was being entertained.
