Hanover is bracing for a very special day when the rebranded and renovated Playtime Casino Hanover is going to hold its official launch ceremony. This week saw the soft opening, which revealed all the progress that has been made until this point, and the premium experience players are going to have in this gaming space. As many as 350 individuals were quick to make their way into the new venue.
Gaming renovation is crucial for maintaining the level of services as high as possible, as well as for keeping up with the times. Gateway Casinos Hanover was completely renovated and the project cost about CA$18 million to Gateway Casinos & Entertainment. The results of this renovation work were partially revealed earlier this year, but this week saw the official soft opening that allowed locals and people from neighboring communities to enter the new venue.
Hanover Casino Holds Soft Opening
Hours before the soft opening there was a palpable tension in the air and more than 350 individuals were eager to see with their own eyes the results of the renovation work. The gambling venue features as many as 286 slot devices sprinkled across the gaming floor. In addition to them, eight live table games aim to diversify gaming offerings on site for a true Vegas experience.
The gaming offerings are only one part of the entire experience, as the location would also have on offer signature dining brands, available at every Gateway Casinos facility. The first one is a fully fledged restaurant called the MATCH Eatery and Public House that is a more family-oriented venue. Kids would be welcome to try the variety of premium dishes with their families, adding another attractive dining location to Hanover.
The second location is called The Buffet and is adjacent to the casino venue with its diverse entertainment. This one is focused on the casino patrons and catering to their various food and beverage preferences. General Manager Derek Tierney was content with the levels of interest to the new gaming venue that spans over 32,672 square feet, plus a 3,283-square-foot mezzanine.
CA$18-Million Renovation and Rebranding
He also pointed out that the new complex aims to exceed the expectations of Hanover residents and attract casino enthusiasts and people of all ages with its family-friendly environment. The CA$18-million expansion was able to not only improve the player experience on site but also provide as many as 200 individuals with permanent employment and steady income.
There are still things that should be done ahead of the grand opening which would take place on April 11. Casino management is preparing the area for the construction of the patio overlooking Hanover Raceway. It is going to welcome up to 96 individuals at a time and its official first day of operation would be sometime in May. The rebranding and renovation process happened according to previously issued schedule with the soft opening happening on the previously chosen date.
Gambling operation in the town has resulted in the most recent allocation happening in January. It amounted to CA$302,064 in non-tax gaming revenue that had been amassed throughout the third quarter of the fiscal year, adding up to CA$960,623 since April 1, 2018. Since the first day of gambling in Hanover, city coffers have witnessed nearly CA$17.4 million in regular allocations.
