Playground Poker Club’s New Gaming Floor Will Grant Mohawks of Kahnawake CA$3 Million

Casino expansion and improvement of existing offerings is an ongoing and never-ending process which aims to bring more to players and make their lives more diverse thanks to various premium additions. This basic principle guaranteeing constant attraction to gaming locations was put to the test recently at Kahnawake, where the renown Playground Poker Club saw the addition of a gaming venue on site, stepping up the game and potentially attracting more locals.

The location is more than favorable for gaming and offering a wide array of action, as the venue is situated in the vicinity of Highway 138. This guarantees a constant flow of individuals, tourists along the facility, as well as easy access to regular customers. Playground Poker Club is well-known as a premium location for poker action, able to attract and host some of the best poker festivals and recurring tournaments.

Electronic Games Now Availabel on Site

In this sense, the new addition is simply the next logical step in the development of the facility as a successful business. The new gaming venue was hosted by the ground floor of the existing building which is already home of the poker club. The ultimate goal for this gaming floor is to simply bring more to the players that are already interested in poker but also excited to try their luck with more games.

More than 300 electronic gaming machines are sprinkled across the ground floor, providing all visitors with the chance to enjoy their premium games with all bells and whistles fitting well into the image of a gaming venue. However, what many people found uncharacteristic for a casino venue launch was the way it was done. There was no grand ceremony with a ribbon cutting, as the venue is referred to as an electronic game space welcoming players.

The location strives to maintain the focus on poker and makes it clear that this is the primary purpose of Playground Poker. Electronic games on the gaming floor are simply an addition to existing offerings. Players could access the area by entering the Poker Tournament Hall first.

In response to this launch, the Union of Bar Tenants stated that the gaming venue operation is illegal, as it is in direct breach with the existing Canadian Criminal Code. Development on this subject could be witnessed in the foreseeable future.

Financial Support Allocated to Local Tribes

Apart from providing players with the chance to win big and claim fair cash payouts both related to poker and electronic gaming devices, the gaming facility management is also willing to support the local community. It was recently confirmed that the gaming venue management has reached an agreement with the Kahnawake Mohawk Band which is going to provide the tribal community with a financial boost.

According to the arrangement, over the span of three years the gaming venue operation will guarantee CA$3 million in total in allocation to the Kahnawake Band. It is going to be a mutually beneficial collaboration, as members of the tribe will be hired as part of Playground Poker’s staff providing them with a steady income and permanent work.
