Woodbine Racetrack Promises Riveting CA$1m Queen’s Plate

Woodbine Entertainment is ready for riveting upcoming weeks filled with live racing and casino gaming. This year’s edition of The Queen’s Plate is going to feature live performances from Universal Music Canada artists Jade Eagleson and platinum-selling singer/songwriter Ryland James, taking place right then and there at Woodbine Racetrack. September 12 is set to be a special day.

Following months of lockdown and a dynamically changing situation, people have been looking forward to live horse racing and the chance to experience it all in-person. Earlier this summer, Woodbine Entertainment announced it greenlights live racing without spectators, as this was the safest approach that could sustain the horse racing field of Ontario. Some riveting events are set to transform the upcoming weeks.

September 12

The 161st edition of The Queen’s Plate is projected to take place on September 12 and enhance the entire weekend with its influence. As many as 16 probable contenders eye it as their chance of making it to the first place and winning the first jewel of the Canadian Triple Crown. The days leading to this weekend have also been intriguing, as they paved the way for success.

The post-position draw for this year’s Queen’s Plate took place this Wednesday and everyone interested got the chance to watch the live stream online, as it started at 10 a.m. The Queen’s Plate is renowned for being North America’s longest continuously run Thoroughbred race. This year it is projected to be even more special, as it will see the live performances of the two stars. Woodbine Entertainment wanted to introduce something intriguing.

Christina Litz, Vice President, Business Development and Revenue for Woodbine Entertainment, stated that music has become intertwined with live racing and it only made sense for it to be present once again. Canadian artists making their way there was the way to go for the management. Jade Eagleson is expected to sing his ‘Boom Town’ hit.

Casino Woodbine Reopens Soon

The music video was shot in front of Woodbine Racetrack and it reflects the feeling many horse racing fans have had over the past nearly half a year. Ryland James is also expected to electrify horse racing fans with his live performance, as his career is also linked to Woodbine Racetrack. The music video of his hit ‘In My Head’ was shot on the E.P. Taylor.

Individuals interested in experiencing it all will get the chance to do so with The Queen’s Plate @ Home online experience. It will be available on the official Instagram account of Woodbine Entertainment. It will commence at noon this Saturday and make the afternoon even more riveting, bringing the experience closer to the people.

The race itself is set to commence at 4:30 p.m. It will be live-streamed on TSN and CTV making it possible for more people to tune in and watch everything happening. They will also get the chance to place their wagers online and win big as a result of the CA$1 million Queen’s Plate. Great Canadian Gaming Corporation also recently announced that Casino Woodbine is projected to relaunch on September 28.
