Great news is on the horizon for the patrons of Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady as the gaming property most recently announced that it restarts operations of its poker room. The venue will be functional for the first time since the begging of the unprecedented situation and now will have working hours of 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. every day.
The casino is slowly returning to its normal way of operations as it reopens more and more of its amenities with the relaxation of health and safety rules. A while ago, thanks to permission from the New York Gaming Commission and order from now-former governor Andrew Cuomo the property managed to extend its working hours and increase its volume of customers.
Pokers Offerings Now Live
The poker room at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady is now the final major amenity to restart operations at the property after the gaming facility was able to reopen its doors in September last year. The room renewed operation on September 1, 2021, and now offers its premiums gaming products, including 16 poker tables, slot machines, and the Rivers Sportsbook that provides its patrons with the complete entertainment experience.
General Manager of the casino, Rick Richards said a few words on the last big reopening amenity at the property. According to him, the poker room is a fan-favorite venue and it is a major part of what makes the casino a gaming hotspot for gamblers. Mr. Richards also shared that he is extremely delighted to have the poker room up and running and is happy to welcome back guests to it.
The casino has also posted its schedule for the poker room. Guests of the venue can enjoy Pro Football Hot Seat Drawing every day during the working hours of the room. On September 1, the poker room debuted with the High Hand of the Hour Giveaway which was available from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. Then on Sept, the High Hand of the Hour Giveaway will also be available but from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. The full schedule can be found on the official website of the casino.
Currently, the gaming property operates every day from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. and the off hours are used to perform a thorough cleaning and sanitation of the premises. There are also sanitation processes performed throughout the day, this way the casino can provide a safer environment for both staff members and visitors. Guests of the property who are not fully vaccinated must also wear a protective face mask.
Relax of Rules
In June, Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady was able to return to its full customers volume, after a green light from the state’s gaming commission and former NY governor Andrew Cuomo. This was the first time since the beginning of the unprecedented situation that the property was allowed to welcome guests at full capacity. Additionally, plexiglass barriers were removed and masks became optional for fully vaccinated patrons.
August Recruitment
At the beginning of August, the NYS-based gaming property hosted a job fair to make some new additions to its food and drinks department. The fair took place on August 5, 2021, at the casino’s Event Center, and it was looking into hiring over 50 new staff members. The available positions were cooks, chefs, bartenders, cocktail servers, shift managers and several others.
