Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Enjoys Life

Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady is now enjoying life after previously returning to its full set of operations. The NY-based gaming facility has reported a record-breaking quarter for gaming revenue for the period of July through September. With revenue high at the casino, it seems that the unprecedented situation is a thing of the past for the gaming hotspot.

The gaming property was closed down in March 2020, due to the emergency of the unprecedented situation that also shut down many other businesses. The casino was allowed to reopen back in September 2020, and now 14 months later is back to full operations and pre-lockdown financial statistics. Patrons can once again relish table games, slots, live entertainment while also enjoying food and drinks.

Record-Setting Month

According to Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady, the month of September was the most prolific one for the property in its history in terms of gaming revenue. General Manager of the casino, Rick Richards said that it was nice to see people return back to the property. He also noted that the facility is doing quite well in terms of income and it is even looking to hire new staff.

Due to the company’s policy, Mr. Richards did not share details on specific revenue numbers and strategies to increase. But he explained that the property has managed to recover from the unprecedented situation and balance its sheets, as all revenue sources are now up and running. Including the return of live shows, which fans eagerly awaited to come back.

Recently, the NY-based gaming hotspot restarted its live shows program, and it hosted a benefit dinner for over 400 guests. Concerts are now also on the menu, and the property will also host one more running of the Cage Wars which is a mixed martial arts contest, and the tickets for it are already sold out. The live-show schedule can be found on the casino’s official website.

The General Manager also predicts continued growth for the casino’s sports betting offerings – River Sportsbook, operated by Rush Street Interactive. The sportsbook has managed to generate US$41.6 million in wagers for the last six months. The company was recently selected as one of the companies for a mobile sports betting operator, and Mr. Richards believes that this will only help the on-site offerings at the sportsbook.

Mr. Richards believes that since the company will be now an operator for the state’s mobile sports betting, this will also help in promoting the land-based sportsbook. According to him, with the increasing popularity of online options, fans will also be introduced to premium on-site offerings. Such as stopping by to have food or drinks while also watching the game they have wagering on.

Return of the Poker Room

After operating for a while under limited capacity and operations, at the start of this September, the NY casino managed to renew poker room services. On September 1, 2021, the room that facilitates 16 poker tables, as well as slot machines, started work again. And in order to keep players entertained it will continue to host numerous daily poker tournaments for them to compete in.
