Once more Resorts World New York City has given back to the communities, and this time the casino has demonstrated support for the victims of breast cancer. Just recently, the Queens’ property announced that its team members from the state have participated in this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which took place throughout October.
Located at 110-00 Rockaway Blvd, Queens, NY 11420, Resorts World NYC is the only casino in New York City and it is owned and operated by Genting Americas. It offers over 6,500 slots and 1,300 electronic table games and patrons can also enroll for Genting Rewards, which can provide them with free play, promotions, discounts and much more.
Demonstrating Support
In its most recent press release, the Genting Americas casino informed that a group of its employees participated in the Making Strides of Queens walk. It took place on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Flushing Meadows Corona Park. On top of its participation, the gaming amenity has also donated US$5,000, plus US$1,800 raised by its staff to the American Cancer Society.
On top of the US$5k donation by Resorts World NYC and the US$1,842 raised by its employees, staff along with team members from the company’s soon-to-launch Resorts World Hudson Valley took part in the Making Strides of Hudson Valley walk. This event took place on Sunday, October 16 at the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets.
However, that is not all, as ten staff members from Resorts World Hudson Valley have also taken participated in the 2022 Hudson Valley Plane Pull at Stewart International Airport to honor cancer survivors. The event took place on Sunday, October 2. Staff joined efforts in order to pull a United GoJet CRG 145 which is a 50-passenger plane across the tarmac.
Meghan Taylor, VP of Government Affairs & Public Relations, at Resorts World New York commented that the team is lucky to work for an organization that cares about important matters such as the battle against breast cancer. She said that it was heartwarming to see when employees took time off their weekend to help raise awareness and give back to the communities.
Important Contribution
This was not the first time the RWNYC has given back to local communities. This July, the casino provided support to numerous arts initiatives in Queens. Some of the backed programs include the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival, Festival of Cinema NYC, Black Spectrum Theatre Co. Inc, Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning, St. Albans Jazz Festival and the outdoor Summer Café.
The gaming amenity has also been backed to acquire one of the three commercial casino licenses in downstate New York. According to CGS-CIMB Research, the casino is in pole position for one of the full-scale licenses. The organization suggests that the Queens’ gaming property would be able to quickly generate more tax revenue for the state, in comparison to other facilities
