Resorts World New York Seeks Staff Online

Resorts World Casino New York City has announced that an online job fair will be organized for Southeast Queens residents who are looking for work. The unprecedented situation had a devastating effect on the local economy and that is why the casino property is looking to add around 500 new members to its team and help out the recovery process in the meantime.

The unemployment rate in Queens was 12.9% back in January this year, which significantly lower than what it was in June 2020 with a 21.6% rate, which was considered to be the apex of the unprecedented situation. However, those numbers are still almost 10% higher than the February 2020 unemployment rate ergo before the begging of the lockdown.

Recruitment Tuesdays

The hotspot gambling facility officially starts the online job fair Tuesdays on April 27 and according to schedule ends on May 31. Vice President of the casino’s Community Development -Michelle Stoddart, stated that the property realizes its responsibility to the local population and is hopeful that this recruitment initiate can help the residents. She added that the online job application is very user and social distancing friendly.

Applicants who are ready to take on new career paths can take part in several online recruitment sessions. The first one on April 27, at 2 p.m. with hiring manager Erika Holguin who is director of HR. Then on May 4, also at 2 p.m. participants will be interviewed by Marcio Azevedo, SVP of hotel operations. Next is May 11, at 2 p.m. director of property operations Chris Jones will be interviewing candidates.

Ms. Holguin has also spoken a few words on the virtual recruitment fair. She acknowledged that the last year has been difficult for Queens as many workers have been laid off from their positions. The casino is hopeful that its new hotel, dining outlets, and gaming areas positions can help out the region on its road to recovery from the fierce unprecedented situation.

Candidates can register pretty easily on the platform by creating an account and then uploading their resumes in an instance. Ms. Holguin explained that the gambling property wanted to keep the experience as real as possible and that is why the interviews will be conducted by hiring managers in online sessions.

Community Gives Back

Several Queens community groups have voiced their support for Resorts World New York City to be awarded a full-fledged casino license. This is due to the fact that the NYC legislature is considering lifting the moratorium on downstate casino licenses and issuing them earlier in order to compensate for the budget holes. Local groups believe the casino has done plenty for the region and its conversion to a full-casino facility will be even more useful.

Extended Working Hours

Not long ago, Resorts World New York City was able to return to its regular working operation hours at the start of this month. Gamblers will have more time for betting on the casino’s premises as it will be functional from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. on a daily basis. This was possible due to Governor Cuomo’s order for the extension of working hours for bar restaurants and other similar businesses.
