PointsBet Acquires RGC Check Accreditation

This, PointsBet USA and PointsBet Canada reported that they have been approved for accreditation under the RG Check program by the Responsible Gambling Council. Based in Toronto, the RGC is one of the leading global authorities on responsible gambling. It operates independently from the industry, allowing it to provide impartial insights and services.

PointsBet is a major iGaming operator which is listed on Australian Stock Exchange and it operates in some of the biggest markets, including the US, Canada, and Ireland. The company is prominent for its cloud-based wagering platform, which utilizes to offer its partners sports and racing betting services, advanced deposit wagering on racing and online gambling.

The Accreditation Itself

The RG Check is established by the Responsible Gambling Council’s Centre for Advancement of Best Practices and is the most comprehensive responsible gambling accreditation in the global gaming industry. It was created with the help of a plethora of stakeholders from the industry, policymakers, gaming providers and operators, and problem gamblers.

It should be mentioned that the accreditation is awarded to operators for three years after they have been assessed by responsible gambling experts and a prestigious and independent Accreditation Panel. It is created to meet or build on existing responsible gambling regulatory requirements, while also delivering a roadmap for introducing responsible gambling codes of practice.

Shelley White, who is CEO of RGC, congratulated the PointsBet brands on successfully acquiring RG Check iGaming Accreditation for its PointsBet.ca and PointsBet.com. She believes the check is a strong indication of the gaming operator’s commitment to prioritizing player protection, education, and harm minimization via its gaming operations. She claimed a check is an invaluable tool for managing risk and monitoring the effectiveness of the program.

In the press release, the RGC also informed that as part of the accreditation process, experts from the program thoroughly review the two websites by PointsBet based on the nine RG Check standards. Thus, compiling a comprehensive review on documentation and training, employee interviews, employee surveys, and last but not least testing of the websites.

Previous Noteworthy Achievements

In order to enhance its offerings for its Canadian audiences, over the past year, PointsBet has inked some important partnerships. For instance, in September, the sportsbook hosted a curling tournament branded PointsBet Invitational. It featured the top 16 teams from the world of curling from each gender and it ran from September 21 through September 25, 2022.

Another important milestone for the betting company from September 2022 was the debut of its newsletter in collaboration with Front Office Sports. Through the agreement, the sportsbook is utilizing FOS’ core tech and content competencies, and offer to its players the latest news, the largest bets, and the most appealing boosts to the subscribers’ digital inboxes.
