OLG’s PROLINE Brand Partners Up with MLB

Most currently, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and the Major League Baseball have informed that they have struck a multi-year collaboration agreement. This deal makes OLG’s PROLINE sportsbook an official sports wagering partner of the league. The agreement also marks the first sports betting partnership for MLB in the province.

OLG uses PROLINE and PROLINE+ sportsbook brands to offer safe and regulated sports wagering in an online and retail form to local bettors. Similar to its other gaming offerings, 100% of the sportsbooks’ proceeds are reinvested into the province’s economy. Players must be 18 years old to play at retail locations and at least 19 for the online alternative.

An Official MLB Partner

Through this agreement, the OLG along with its PROLINE sportsbook will become the official sports betting partner for the MLB. This grants the Crown corporation distribution rights to the league’s official logos and cross-promotion across MLB digital and social channels. Free-to-play digital games will also be presented for baseball fans throughout the entirety of the season.

Dave Pridmore, OLG’s Chief Digital and Strategy Officer, stated that the collaboration with a world-class organization such as the MLB allows the Crown to develop a thrilling and unique interactive experience for bettors. He said that the true value of the agreement for the Crown is the fact that it will bring PROLINE users closer to the game they love.

Kenny Gersh, MLB Executive Vice President, Business Development, also said a few words about the deal. He commented that as the organization continues to explore additional revenue to engage fans through sports wagers, the league must find creative, experienced partners in every region. Lastly, he believes that the OLG will prove to be a trusted partner with the vision to expand the league’s exposure.

The OLG & MLB agreement will provide plenty of benefits for both sides. It will secure a unique variety of exciting baseball content for digital platforms through PROLINE+. Additionally, the OLG will have distribution rights to the league’s logos and cross-promotion across MLB digital and social channels. The Crown will also introduce free-to-play games during the season.

OLG’s Recent Activities

At the end of last month, the Crown corporation announced a new agreement with the renowned payments platform Paysafe. Through this cooperation, Paysafe’s marketing technology and services provider Income Access will boost OLG’s brand-new affiliate program. The two companies have been prominent partners for quite some time, as their first coalition dates back to January 2015.

Prior to that, the Crown agency reported that it has seen some impressive betting activity at the start of May 2022. Despite the launch of Ontario’s new market, PROLINE+ reported the most handled wagers since the launch of the offering, excluding the Super Bowl week. This can be explained due to the fact that many local teams, such as the Toronto Raptors and the Toronto Blue Jays, competed at the time.
