MGM Resorts and BetMGM Start New Gambling Awareness Campaign

Industry-leading casino brands MGM Resorts and BetMGM announced that they will be upping their responsible gambling initiatives. The two companies most recently revealed that they will launch Responsible Gambling Education Month every year. And its purpose would be to educate bettors on the possible negative effects developed from harmful gambling activities.

As a start of its newest initiative, the two gaming leaders will start to broadcast and promote key responsible gaming guidance and data through their social networks this month. In addition to that, the two brands will also take part in the “Have a Game Plan. Bet Responsibly” public service program, which was launched by the American Gaming association.

Promoting Responsible Play

On top of its new campaign to raise awareness, both the gaming companies will continue to be devoted to the GameSense program by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. Currently, more than 35,000 TV screens at MGM Resorts’ properties display GameSense messages and advice for patrons. While more than 62,000 employees have been coached under the MGM Resorts GameSense employee training program.

Garrett Farnes, Director of Responsible Gaming at MGM Resorts, said that the company is proud to join RGEM 2022, as it would be a great platform to raise awareness and improve customer health. He explained that the firm’s staff are the first line of defence when it comes to responsible gambling initiatives, and thus they have to possess the knowledge to advise patrons properly.

Richard Taylor, who is the manager of BetMGM’s Responsible Gambling Program, said that the company is excited to be part of another program to promote healthy practices and improve awareness. He commented that the objective was to provide exceptional customer service while also encouraging responsible gambling to customers.

In addition to in-person protections, both companies also offer online tools to protect players from the potential development of a harmful gambling habit when playing online. Most of these features are player-imposed, as they can choose to set customized deposit, loss, and playing limits. There are also self-exclusion options, which lock a player out of the app for a selected period of time.

Expansion into New Markets

BetMGM is online in numerous markets across the North American gaming landscape. Back in January, it debuted in the Empire State’s mobile sports betting sector, where along with eight more sportsbooks are allowed to operate in the state. The local market is one of tremendous potential as since its launch in January it has already surpassed US$10 billion in total handle.

Then in April, BetMGM was also permitted to enter Ontario’s online gaming and sports betting market for private operators. The newly launched sector is operated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, and local bettors are now able to enjoy its impressive offerings online in both premium iCasino play and world-class sports wagering opportunities.
