Gateway Casinos to Recruit Staff for Wasaga Beach Property

On July 14, 2022, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment made an announcement that it looking to recruit individuals for its new Wasaga Beach property in Ontario. The gaming conglomerate plans on hosting its first job fair for the soon-to-be casino and it has over 140 positions to fill up. The event will take place, at Wasaga Beach RecPlex at 1724 Mosley St.

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment operates over 20 casino properties in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario. Soon the gaming conglomerate is expected to open its Wasaga Beach one, which would cost CA$34 million, and it will stretch over 34,000-square-foot of land. It will also feature the company’s trademark Match Eatery and Public House, an outdoor patio, and Arcade Bar.

Numerous Positions Available

On Thursday, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment announced that it is now looking to hire staff for 140 positions for its new Playtime property in Wasaga Beach. Some of the available positions included cooks, bartenders, servers, dishwashers, hosts, cage and coin attendants, slot technicians, security and maintenance. The job fair will take place on July 19, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The event will be held at the Wasaga Beach RecPlex at 1724 Mosley St. and applicants are encouraged to bring their resumés and their current contact information. The new gaming amenity is slated to launch later this year. However, the company’s Director of Communications and Public Affairs, Rob Mitchell, said that he cannot provide an exact time frame at the moment.

Wasaga Beach’s new gaming property would come with the conglomerate’s signature Match Eatery & Public House, which will offer a tremendous experience as both a pub and a sports bar to locals. Meanwhile, its restaurant is perfect for families with children, and it boasts a menu that will certainly appeal to all kinds of tastes.

The casino property will also feature the company’s trademark Arcade Bar which will be located on the gaming floor and is suitable for grab-and-go food and drinks. Since the entire casino is licensed, patrons will be able to carry their drinks from the outdoor patio, the restaurant, Arcade Bar, and the gaming floor to other venues at the property.

Other Projects

Meanwhile, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment is working on launching more gaming amenities across Ontario. The company recently sent a letter of commitment to Greater Sudbury, as it is slated to build a CA$60-million casino at the city’s new Kingsway Entertainment District project. However, a few days after that the city voted to back оut of the project, thus leaving some uncertainties.

Earlier this year, the gaming conglomerate has also given an update on its Kenora project in Ontario. Representatives of the company shared that currently the gaming leader is focused on restoring business at its existing amenities and that it is unsure when it will kick off the construction process at the multi-million casino which will be located on Ninth Street North in Kenora.
