FanDuel and PokerStars Join Forces with MLSE

At the end of last week, PokerStars and FanDuel have informed that they both have struck a lucrative partnership agreement with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. Now, the gaming brands that have been approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to join the province’s new and regulated market will become official partners of the Toronto-based professional sports and commercial real estate company.

FanDuel is an innovative entertainment company that offers a broad portfolio of leading brands in gaming, sports betting, daily fantasy sports, and advance-deposit wagering. In addition to that, it also provides TV/media such as FanDuel, Stardust Casino, and TVG. While PokerStars is one of the leading iGaming brands and part of Flutter Entertainment. Both companies will supply their products to the Toronto corporation.

The Arrangement

Through this agreement, both FanDuel and PokerStars will be able to present their exceptional sports wagering and iCasino offerings to many loyal sports fans in Canada. Both companies will have access to Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment team marks in advertising and marketing, as well as being featured throughout Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors games such as rink board and on-court signage.

In addition to that, FanDuel Sportsbook and PokerStars will team on marketing integrations with all of MLSE’s teams. This includes the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC, Toronto Argonauts, and Toronto Marlies. Dale Hooper, General Manager, FanDuel Canada commented that the Maple Leafs, Raptors, and Toronto FC are the top pioneering franchises in the Canadian sports scene.

Tom Warren Marketing Director for the iGaming brand shared that the company has some big plans in store for its Canadian community when they launch their products. He continued by saying that the collaboration with MLSE gives the iCasino company the opportunity to reach Ontario’s passionate fan base and offer them their wide assortment of poker and casino games.

Jordan Vader, Senior Vice President, Global Partnerships, MLSE praised Flutter Entertainment for being a global leader and a trusted operator in the sports wagering industry. He shared that the company was looking for partners who share their vision for innovation and commitment to responsible gaming in the market, and both of its new partners match the description perfectly.

BCE Agreement

In addition to this partnership, FanDuel has recently also inked one more important one with Canadian telecom and media leader BCE. Through this collaboration, the sportsbook will bolster BCE’s TSN sports network with its premium betting-focused content, as the wagering firm will now become TSN’s official sportsbook partner in the country, and allow the network to add wagering options on individual sports games and events.

Debut in the Empire State

FanDuel is also enjoying its success south from Ontario in New York State, as the company is one of the nine state-approved entities to offer online sports betting in the jurisdiction. The sportsbook was one of the four apps that were allowed to go live along with BetRivers, DraftKings, and Caesars Entertainment as the market officially launched on January 8, 2022.
