CGA Presents Its Newest Chair and Vice-Chair

On December 23, 2021, the Canadian Gaming Association formally announced that it will be making some additions to its administration. llkim Hincer, Executive Vice President & Chief Legal Officer, Hard Rock International has now been appointed as Chair to the association’s Board of Directors, as well as George Sweny, Vice-President, Compliance, Flutter Entertainment, who will serve as Vice-Chair.

The CGA is a national trade association that represents operators and providers from Canada’s gambling, sports wagering, eSports, and lottery markets. This includes representatives of the industry that offer land-based and online casino services, and its efforts are put into expanding the industry by promoting the economic value of the gaming sector in the country.

Welcoming New Members

President and CEO of the CGA, Paul Burns, officially welcomed Mr. Hincer and Mr. Sweny. He commented that he is pleased to have Mr. Hincer as Chair of the Board of Directors, as they know each other for years, and he has followed the new Chair’s career in the gaming sector. He added that Mr. Hincer has an immaculate record of working for the largest gaming operators on the continent.

Mr. Burns has also noted that he is now looking forward to the association’s new Chair of Board of Directors. His experience and expertise from his rich history in the gaming industry will certainly prove crucial for the association’s efforts to revive the sector from the effects of the unprecedented situation. According to Mr. Burns, the association must bounce back and capitalize on all exciting technology and recent developments.

Mr. Hincer has also said a few words on his appointment. He stated that he is honored to be the new Chair of the Canadian Gaming Association. In his opinion, the association had a major part in the recovering of the gaming sector during the unprecedented situation. He also thanked Carrie Kormos for her leadership during her term as Chair.

The new Chair of the association’s Board of Directors has also shared that he is now excited to be working with President and CEO Mr. Burns. Along with the whole Board of Directors, and the association’s many diverse stakeholders as it continues to recover and grow in these ever-changing times. At the Board, he will join names like Danielle Bush, Rob Scarpelli, Dean Ehrlich, and more.

November Appointments

Back in November during the CGA’s annual general meeting on November 12, 2021, the association elected four new members to the Board of Directors. The four new additions are FansUnite’s Scott Burton, Nuvei’s, Neil Erlick, DraftKings’ Jeffrey Hass, and Chuck Keeling from Great Canadian Gaming Corporation. Their experience will prove to be valuable in the CGA’s efforts to evolve the industry.

New Members Joins

Earlier this year, the CGA formally welcomed GameOn Entertainment Technologies as one of its members. This became official on July 1, 2021, and through its induction, the gaming company will have many benefits and insights to further improve its current situation. Additionally, the corporation will receive access to many gaming studies, exclusive marketing, and advocacy on local gaming legislation.
