Cascades Casino Delta Reminds Gambling is for Fun

Cascades Casino Delta in British Columbia reminds its patrons that gambling is not a way of making bank, but rather a way of having fun. And in order to protect its players, the casino is utilizing the British Columbia Lottery Corporation’s GameSense program. Experts are available to help gamblers throughout the casino’s operational hours.

One of Cascades Casino Delta’s licensed responsible gambling advisors is Tyler Green who patrols the casino’s gaming floor and is ready to give out advice. He also operates from a GameSense Info Centre, which is a venue, which offers a break from the casino and the noise and coloured lights of the casino that could be overwhelming at times for bettors.

Building Relationships with Bettors

Speaking on his work, Mr. Green explained that as an advisor he builds relationships with some of the casino’s regulars. But instead of asking them directly about problem gambling, he talks with them about general things, and then if they had questions about gambling, he would happily provide them with the information. Thus, they can make an informed decision about gambling.

He explained that one of the most common questions he hears from patrons is how to play a certain game or slot machine. That is why there is a demonstration slot machine in the information centre to give new players a sense of the game. In addition to that, his responsibilities include providing help for people who experience problem gambling and giving them tips.

Mr. Green shared that there is no certain way to tell if one is experiencing a problem with gambling unless one admits it right away. However, he says that there are signs, such as if a bettor comes regularly to the casino or is spending a large amount of money. That is why in his words, it is crucial to forming relationships with bettors, which will make them more comfortable in sharing with him.

Lastly, Mr. Green reminded bettors that it is important to have realistic expectations and that they must play for fun, and for making money. He also pointed out that everyone has a different story and it is important to build relationships with players over time and be able to listen to them and find a way of helping them.

Launched in September

As already mentioned, Cascades Casino Delta is a rather new gambling establishment in B.C. which opened at the end of September 2022. It is operated by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment and it touts a 42,000-square-foot gaming floor which houses over 500 slot machines, 18 live table games, and four to six electronic table games for bettors to enjoy.

There is also a five-storey hotel attached to the casino named Delta Hotels by Marriott – Vancouver Delta. The new hospitality establishment offers over 124 premium guest rooms, an outdoor pool, a hot tub, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, a meeting space, a sundry shop and much more services for its guests. It is set to employ between 50 to 60 individuals.
