Canadian Gaming Summit Adds ‘Land-Based’ Track

With the current digitalization of the gambling industry, the Canadian Gaming Summit wants to talk about what is in store for the land-based portion of it. The 26th edition of the popular summit will now feature a ‘Land-Based’ conference track, which will discuss the future of brick-and-mortar gambling in an industry headed towards massive digitalization.

According to CGS’s schedule, the ‘Land-Based’ track will be hosted on June 14, 2023, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It will include a conference agenda consisting of a unique lineup of industry experts who will discuss the situation of traditional verticals such as horse racing, lottery and bingo in an online world, the occurrence of omnichannel formats and much more.

Main Topics of Discussion

The conference track will start off with the panel ‘Lessons learned from community & charitable gaming’. Its topic of concern will be the ways in which non-profit charities and commercial operators can still be viable and relevant. With the gaming industry evolving in new ways, experts will talk about what would be needed for charitable gaming in order to adapt to the new scenery.

There will also be a panel titled ‘Bringing emerging technology and innovation to land-based gaming’, which will probe into the integration of innovative technology with land-based products. Also, the panel’s experts will speak on whether iGaming and technology will affect land-based revenue in a good or bad way, and how brick-and-mortar operators can join efforts in bringing innovation.

Meanwhile, there will also be ‘Talent on the ground” sourcing diverse talent in Canada as companies grow their operations’ panel. Here, specialists will have a discourse on the expanding Canadian workforce in the industry. With the debut of many operators in the country’s scenery, panellists will discuss how operators can incorporate the best local talent while also providing inclusivity and diversity.

In addition to all that, the track will also host numerous other tracks, including Payments & Compliance, Leadership & Growth and iGaming an exhibition floor and an exclusive fireside chat with keynote speakers. This will include Ray Pineault who is CEO of Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, and Ilkim Hincer who is the EVP & CLO of Hard Rock International.

Previously, it was announced that the Canadian Gaming Summit will also feature a thrilling ‘Sports Betting’ conference track. The panel “Sport betting across Canada: navigating the patchwork of the provincial rollout” will kick off the track. It will discuss and analyze the impact of the legalization of single-event wagering in Canada from August 2021.

Dates for 2023 Summits

As mentioned, the CGS will take place from June 13 to June 15, 2023, at the Metro Toronto Convention Center in Toronto. Then next on the list is the SBC Summit Barcelo at the Fira Barcelona Montjuïc from September 19 to September 21, 2023. For this year, the last one will be the SBC Summit Latinoamérica at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Miami, Florida from October 31 to November 2023.
